He can sense her turmoil through the whispered grumbles and he decides that being near her is far more preferable than the rest of the available options. At least until he finds something to cover his face with.
He says nothing to her, but does observe her like a curious cat for a moment before turning his attention elsewhere. For the briefest moment, he considers killing one of the other dwellers and using the scraps of their jumpsuit to fashion a mask but...that is too callous, even for him.
